Palm Beach ?Pacific? House by Casey Brown Architecture
Palm Beach ?Pacific? House is a project designed by Casey Brown Architecture. Located high on the hills above Palm Beach just north of Sydney this north facing new beach house enjoys spectacular views to Palm Beach, the Pacific ocean and Barrenjoey light house. The clients brief was a family holiday home, private yet enjoying the view and distinctively different. Photography by rhys holland.
.
The plan comprises of two pavilions linked by a long north south verandah. The larger pavilion houses living/kitchen and dining while the master bedroom and ensuite is a completely separate building. This layout ensures most spaces enjoy the view panorama and are saturated in light. From the street the house is set back with a steep drive emphasising the living room cantilever rising over the carport and main entry to the house.
Materials externally create a rich and robust façade of rusty corten and char black vertical boarding with a small plunge pool tucked in front of the master bedroom pavilion.
