The challenge was profound: to craft a home that seamlessly integrates into the Victorian-era charm of the district while boldly expressing its own contemporary identity. The solution is a three-story marvel, meticulously designed to honor tradition while embracing innovation.
Inspired by the verticality of neighboring Victorian homes, the design rises gracefully to meet the sky, echoing the classic proportions of the era. The extruded gable massing pays homage to the architectural motifs of the past, while maintaining a clear distinction as a product of its time. Situated within the Civic Centre Heritage District, the design respects the Victorian vernacular while confidently asserting its modernity. The alignment of the ridge line with neighboring peaks ensures a harmonious streetscape, while the composition of windows along the side elevations nods to Victorian design principles.
