Week Two: The Inspiration + Obstacles
We are madly pulling together our choices for the bathroom remodel at my mom?s house. This season’s One Room Challenge is quite a task. It?s been so much fun trying to figure out a design that works in a home that is one hundred years old. The most important thing is that we want it to flow with the rest of the house but also stand out on it?s own. And there are a lot of obstacles: two doors and a tiny footprint of space – 6 feet x 6 feet. We?ve made some serious progress with choosing some great items that I think you are going to love!
Since this is for my mom?s home, the design will definitely be light and airy. We are using the existing bathtub and are having it refurbished. We have plans to find a vintage sink (we?ll see if we find one!) as well. I?m sourcing fabric for the shower curtain that will most likely be a light linen fabric. We?ve ordered the tiles (hint: they are Fireclay Tile!!).
THE THREE MUSTS
Adding a touch of vintage
Making sure it has a serene feeling
Have one surprise element
Now it?s time time for demo and waiting for everything to arrive. This will be a huge improvement from the bad 1990?s remodel that existed before this remodel. Before photos are coming your way next week!
Be sure to check out everyone involved in the One Room Challenge. There are so many beautiful plans starting to take form for each of them!
