If you have not yet seen the This Old House 2017 Idea House, you are in for a huge treat today! Located within minutes of the seashore in South Kingstown, Rhode Island, the beach house was a partnership between This Old House, Union Studio Architecture and Community Design, Sweenor Builders and Denise Enright Interior Design. The classic shingle-style home has a sophisticated yet relaxed beachy vibe and a color palette inspired by the scenic coastal New England setting. The exterior’s bold blue accents (doors in Chinese Porcelain, trim in Swirling Smoke by Olympic Paint) are just a preview of what’s to come! Continue on for many more beautiful photos by Nat Rea. Most of the furnishings and accessories here and in the living room are from hayneedle.com. The rug and spindle chairs are gorgeous, as are the drapes.

The living room is bright and airy, thanks to the vaulted ceiling and an abundance of windows. Love the rug!
