Sorry to be MIA for the last week…we are having a busy (but fun!) summer around these parts! I decided the blog needed to be on the back burner to making some memories with the kiddos. Everyone says it goes by so fast and I want to make the most of it, so my posts might not be as regular as usual right now.
If there’s one interior designer who knows all about family time, it has to be Karen Davis of Marker Girl. The talented Houston-based designer is all about a joyful, carefree approach to life, at home and with family. I love her tagline, “Where the perfectly imperfect is not only encouraged, but also celebrated.” This is alive and well in her beautiful home above! I was surprised to learn the fabulous abstracts flanking the fireplace in her family room were created by Karen and her children. (Read about them here.) I love how they are proudly displayed as a focal point in the room! And not only is the room absolutely gorgeous and filled with custom touches, it’s also perfect for their family with multiple seats in durable, kid-friendly fabrics. Her sunny breakfast room is great too! The dining chairs are my favorite element…loving the figure eight details. And of course they’re made with spills in mind; they’re covered in an indoor-outdoor fabric with a teflon finish! Lastly Karen’s bedroom. What a dream! The custom-designed bed is a total showstopper!
