Front Door Glow Up
Earlier this week, I posted my sea green door inspiration and the paint colors I considered before repainting my front door and shutters. Since the house is white, I wanted the perfect shade of sea green to go with my coastal meets mid century aesthetic and I?m delighted to have found the perfect color!
The door is old fashioned with its frosted diamond glass but I think it?s also retro so I?m keeping it for now. I may replace the glass in the future but I kinda like it now that it?s repainted. I strongly disliked it before and wanted to replace the door with a mid century style but I?ve changed my mind for now due to the new color.
Here?s a look at the front door before with the kitschy oh-so-Florida palm tree motif on the screen door and the dark turquoise trim paint.

The color of the door is now uniform compared to the the previous homeowner who had highlighted all the curved raised trim. I much prefer it one color. I painted the sidelights white so the door would be the focal point and the shutters would complement.

To complete the project I removed the screen door (it?s only useful here in Florida between November through March) and scrubbed the door with a big sponge and dishwashing soap. Then I hosed it off and I primed the door and the shutt...
