Contemporary Design: Crystal Series by Isaac Monté

Even for a vintage lover like me, sometimes a contemporary design piece is a good way to spice up the home decor. Mixing vintage and contemporary pieces can actually create a nice vibe – the juxtaposition of new and old is quite interesting, in both interior decor as well as, let’s say, architecture. As I already told you a few times here on the blog, Pamono is one of my go-to source for vintage items. But Pamono is way more than an online marketplace for vintage furniture and home accessories: It also features amazing contemporary designs from international artists. It doesn’t come as a surprise that I opted for a contemporary vase that really looks like it was made for me – a crystal vase by Belgian designer Isaac Monté.
I discovered the outstanding work of Isaac Monté for the first time during a design trip to Antwerp. His crystal works are really outstanding. For his ‘Crystal Series’ he created one-of-a-kind vases, lights and accessories by replicating stalagmites. To achieve this look he grew the crystals for his series organically – they grew around certain shapes allowing each object to be completely unique in shape, color and texture.
