I placed the order for new kitchen cabinets at the flip house. I chose a pale taupe color for the lower cabinets and the kitchen island, and a soft white for the upper cabinets and pantry. I?ve done gray cabinets in a kitchen before, I still love it, but for this remodel, I?m choosing a warmer neutral. It will complement the dark flooring, white walls, and the transitional looks already in place in the home (see the fireplace makeover here and the bathroom makeover here).
Warmer grays are definitely trending. Some might say ?taupe is the new gray.? For years we shunned tan and beige and the pendulum swung the other way toward cooler gray which dominated for some time. However I?m happy to see it swinging back to the middle; some call it taupe some call it greige, but I love it when I see it – that soothing neutral that?s a blend of beige and gray.
