Neutral Perfection
Recently, when everyone seems to be gravitating to more color in their homes, I seem to be more and more attracted to room in neutral tones. I have a home where blue predominates, but I?ve noticed lately that the more neutral rooms are the ones I?ve been saving on Pinterest and liking on Instagram.
When I came across this home in Woodstock, New York, I was immediately drawn in. It isn?t minimalism, but rather a retreat with just the perfect amount of accessories to be beckoning you to sit down to read a book, or linger over a cup of tea. I think what makes it work is the texture in the rooms ? wall hangings that work as art, sheepskins on the floor, pipes in a bowl (my father used to smoke a pipe). In addition, the artwork is graphically a mix of black & white that keep the neutral continuity but also add bold pops throughout the home. And the large wood table is balanced with modern chairs in black and white. And who doesn?t love the pages torn from what looks like a vintage geography books above the bed" For those of us who find enough color in the world we live in, this monochromatic home looks like the perfect retreat!
And a huge thank you to Liz of Grey & Scout for finding this home that has inspired me in so many ways.
