Monochrome Home by IDstudio
Monochrome Home is a project designed by IDstudio in 2018, covers an area of 92 m2 and is located in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
“We designed a bright, contemporary apartment in a quiet neighborhood near Ljubljana centre. A young couple that spends most of their time abroad, wanted to return to a comfortable home with many cosy nooks and corners to enjoy in their free time.
Since the couple travels a lot we wanted the apartment to have a cosmopolitan feel – simple, elegant and chic. Soft monochrome palette is complemented with golden details and pastel pink textiles. The focus is on interesting lights, that create different ambients during the day.
Bright entrance hallway clearly separates the living and sleeping area on each side.
Wooden sitting nook frames the window and welcomes you after entering the apartment.
Open living space is visually divided into three parts; big kitchen with breakfast island, dining nook and a comfy tv area.
Grey wall dividers at the entrance doesn?t just create a cosy dining spot but also hides a view to the bathroom door behind them at the same time. Soft gray kitchen makes a great base for white stone countertops, light wood and copper details.
Comfort was a priority when choosing the dark textile sofa, that can also be made into a queen sized bed. The cabinets under the TV can also be used as a bench for seating more guests.
