Designing a space from scratch is always a challenge, if it?s for a client the final look must meet their needs and expectations and when you finish you can walk away. But when you design for yourself you have to look at it everyday and really love what you?ve created. You need to ask yourself, ?What do you really want, for you"? I had to ask myself just that about my master bedroom.
You know that minute or two you have each morning between between when you?re dreaming and when you?re awake" I love that hazy zone when I?m shifting from night to day. I asked myself what I wanted to see in that dreamlike place. What do I love" Blues of course. Dark wood and white sculptural objects. Botanicals. Texture. A mix of gold and silver. A blend of traditional and modern. Things that have meaning but also feel fresh. In the bedroom where you spend a third of your life I believe it should reflect what you really love, so that’s what I did in this One Room Challenge.
 
 
I kept the same bed frame and leather X stools that I had before, but the azure club chairs are new, love them!
 
 
 
 
 
 
A few other things I already had and decided to keep included the vintage Drexel Heritage dressers, my Target lamps, and the two jewelry boxes I?ve had for years. Just about everything else is new. You may recall this makeover started with getting rid of the carpet and installing hardwood flooring and also giving the fireplace a major makeover.
