Interiors: The Transition From Nursery to Toddler Room
As the end of August grows near, it means one thing – Jackson starts preschool. I keep asking myself how I have a preschooler" Over the past few months I’ve been thinking long and hard about transitioning Jackson’s room from a nursery to a toddler room. The way we have his toys “organized” doesn’t really work, and we never use the beautiful daybed.
I’m constantly asked by moms if Jackson has climbed out of his crib – the answer is NO. Both Eric and I have been shocked that he’s never tried, especially with how active he is. He loves going to bed, being in bed and just hanging out in the morning when he wakes up. Which begs the question, do we wait longer to transition him to a twin bed" We decided that in the late fall we are going to take the plunge.
Today, I’m sharing behind the scenes videos (on my insta-stories) of what Jackson’s room looks like at the moment (here is what it looked like as a baby, before the toy bomb when off). The different ideas I have running through my head for his bedroom are endless – there are so many clever ideas out there for little kids. But I keep thinking about a few main things when designing his room:
Pick a color palette. While there is so much out there for a kids room with wallpapers, bedding, etc – I always love to keep bedrooms simple, serene and neutral. It’s a place to retreat at night and that definitely rings true to Jackson.
