Home Office Nook
I?ve been in Florida a month and for the first few weeks I was working with my laptop on a dining room table, then I finally got around to setting up a home office nook. When we bought this house this space was a breakfast area but since there?s a dining room space on the other side of the kitchen I thought it was unnecessary to have a second one so I turned the breakfast nook into a home office nook instead.
It?s a better use of this space, I can look out the front window and watch what?s happening in my front yard. It also allows me to have three bedrooms since I?m not using one of those spaces as an office.
I mixed boho with palm beach style, adding a simple white desk and bookshelf and using my own artwork to decorate it. The pastel palette of peach, pinks, and soft blues takes its cue from the local ocean waters and sunset skies. When I moved in, this is what the space looked like. The previous owner left a three piece set that isn?t my style and the ceiling fan was dated.
I replaced the ceiling fan with an open air white cage light that also functions as a fan and it creates a little breeze. The desk is just large enough to fit my laptop and a few accessories.
I found this great little tech cord organizer to hide USB cables and tied them up with colorful velcro zip ties. Now all my cords are in one place and I can charge while I work or overnight.
