Haus K by destilat
The ?Haus K? project designed by desilat comprises the replanning of a building that our client bought as a shell structure. Its extraordinary location on Schlossberg in Krems (Austria) makes this project a crowning jewel with a view across the valley of the river Danube and the abbey of Göttweig to the south and the vineyards of Krems to the north.
The client?s personal requirements made an extensive new replanning of the building?s interior design necessary. The building?s three levels were restructured after an analysis of the requirements. A spacious wellness area including a sauna, whirlpool, lounge and gym were designed for the ground floor that leads to the northern garden.
The entrance hall is located on the floor above and connects the northern main entrance with southern entrance with a bridge across the moat. This southern entrance can only be reached via a walkway across the Schlossberg. The bedroom with its adjacent walk-in closet, master bathroom and a completely self-sufficient guest apartment with a garden terrace to the south are also located on this floor. On the upper floor, a central, open staircase adjacent to the chimney wall divides the living area in a dining and living room. The open kitchen is optically separated from the living area by a wine storage refrigerator that is positioned at the staircase.
