Entertaining: New Traditions for the Holidays
Thanksgiving holds a special place in my heart. Growing up as a child in Mexico, it was always a challenge to put together the traditional Thanksgiving meal. We usually had a gathering with other ex-pat friends, and the gathering was always packed with interesting and diverse people. This year, we plan to travel to Oregon to visit family. The table will be bursting with our growing families, so I offered to set up our first table set-aside solely for the kiddos!
I partnered with World Market to put together the perfect table that the kids will enjoy. I tried to keep the table in a style that would go well with the main table, but also have some special items to keep them entertained. The little place marks have colored pencils inside, along with cards to draw on. Beautiful orange napkins against a simple square white plate, add a festive spirit to the mix. Probably my favorite item on the table, are the copper mugs. No worries about breaking their cups, and they can be used later for adults to enjoy a hot beverage! Finally, I nearly did a backflip when I found poppers to give add a festive spirit. We have always had poppers at Christmas, but why not bring them out for Thanksgiving too" Let me tell you, I can?t wait to get back to World Market for the holiday décor. There were so many great things and I have such a soft spot for this time of year. Family, friends, and gatherings of the heart, make this my favorite time of year.
